Our reason-for-being is to positively impact the lives of others through authentic hospitality. We partner with Clemson LIFE, a program in Clemson’s College of Education where students with intellectual disabilities can receive a college experience while preparing for competitive employment and independent living. The Shepherd Hotel partners with CU LIFE in training the students for hospitality careers while offering gainful employment to CU LIFE alumni. Within a year or two of opening, we expect upwards of 30-40% of the Shepherd team will be individuals with intellectual disabilities.
